Helloooooo old friends! On the off chance that anyone stops by here, I wanted to tell you what I’ve been up to lately. First, I miss you! I can’t believe it’s been over a year since I accidently quit blogging. I took a week off to get my feet under me and never came back. I miss all of my blogging friends so much.
I started a new business back in November, but I’ve been really slow to tell my blogging buddies about it because I wanted to make sure it would actually work
Now I know that the business model is working (really well) and we’re doing something so cool that I don’t want to hide it anymore. Can I give you a quick intro to the business and then tell you the cool thing that we’re doing? (It relates to Compassion International.)

The business is called Everyday Icing . We sell fashion jewelry directly on Facebook. Yes, Facebook. We have super sweet accessories at at super sweet prices. We fully realize that it’s an unusual business model, but it’s working. Direct sales on Facebook is a fairly new thing, but it’s a fun way to combine social media and shopping! Two of my favorite things!
Our sales are every Monday at 9pm (eastern) on our facebook page and some weeks we have have special themed sales on Thursday…things like Scarf-A-Palooza and Nautical Night.
We offer around 30 different items for a fixed price (usually between $12-$20) and shipping is always free. We post pictures of the items we have that week along with a desciption, price and the quantity that we have. There are limited quantities of each item and when they’re gone, they’re gone.
Shopping with us is as easy as 1-2-3!
- You “like” our facebook page.
- Comment “sold” with your email address on any sweet treat that you can’t resist. If you’d rather keep your email private, click on the “Register Here” tab to enter your email address. Then just comment “Sold”.
- We invoice through paypal and once you’ve paid, we ship. So easy!
There’s a tab on our facebook page called “How to Bid” and it explains exactly how shopping on facebook works.
Now here’s the cool part…We always give 10% of our profits directly to Compassion International. Their work is important to us and we know it’s important to you. But we want to do more. Today and tomorrow, we are going to offer one very special piece that we’re calling our Compassion Bracelet. 100% of the proceeds from that bracelet will benefit Compassion. We’re hoping to raise at least $1,000 through sales of that piece on Thursday and Friday.
We would be so grateful if you would check out Everyday Icing and share this special sale in any way…on your blog, on twitter, on facebook. We are praying that this is successful so that we can make it a regular thing.
Much love,
Kimba

Great idea. Hope things continue to go well. This sounds like a possibility for more folks to try.
what is the auction part?
Wow, I had no clue that was you! I just bought the silver starfish bracelet and got it this week. I love it! I also had no clue 10% was donated to Compassion, that is great!
Glad to hear from you and Glad to hear what you are now up to! Looking forward to seeing the great pieces.
Heeeeeeeey! Do you know how happy I was to see “A Soft Place to Land” in my inbox? I almost did a squeal!
I will definitely check out the page. No moolah for buying pretties (although I LOOOOVE that Compassion Bracelet) at the moment (have you seen my FB statuses lately?) but I will most definitely keep it in mind.
Miss you, my sweet friend! (I’ve also fallen off the blogging wagon…my posts are spotty at best)
I love the Compassion Bracelet but have to wait for my next paycheck to purchase. Good luck with your effort to raise the $1,000.
Hi Kimba, what a wonderful thing you are doing. I can not wait to check out your facebook page. I loved reading your last couple of posts. It is amazing to see what God is doing through you and how honest you are. Looking forward to keeping up with you. I have just started a new business with a friend, and am thinking about how we can help/donate for military families (we are military wives). Your blog and business is inspiring. I fell off the blog band wagon for a year and half and now I can’t stop writing! Keep faith and good luck on reaching your goal.
Great accessories, and it really looks like your business is doing well judging Everyday Icing’s FB page. Good luck!
Great idea! I love the accessories!
