Hello, my friends! I’ve missed you all so much!!!! It was wonderful taking a 2 week blogging break, but I definitely missed this world.
My hubby calls you all the “friends who live in my computer”, but I’ve discovered that you’re also “friends who live in my head and my heart”. That sounds weird doesn’t it? Moving on.
It was a busy 2 weeks. Here’s a quick run-down of what I’ve been doing…in pictures.
This little goof-ball celebrated his 4th birthday (insert tears from me).
We took a little road trip to eastern PA to visit with all of these guys. I can definitely say that Sesame Place is worth a visit if you’re in the area. The boys had a fantastic time!
Then I put this toothless fella… (is there anything cuter than missing front teeth? I think not.)
On one of these…
For this…
(insert more tears from me.) Are you noticing a pattern yet?
I also learned how to make the most amazing (and EASY!) bread ever. Post coming soon. This also got a few tears…of PURE JOY!
And let’s not forget the mountain of these that were read. Our library cards were smoking! Lots of fun read-alouds with the kids and some just for myself. HEAVEN!
We also knocked a few more things off our Summer List. It’s not quite done, so we’re now calling it our Summer into Fall List.
What was your favorite thing from this summer?

I know how you feel, they are growing up and there are moments when you remember when they were first born. Just wait until you get to the point of them graduating from high school, no their first girlfriend which you won’t like
GAH! I’m so not ready to think about high school.
Glad you are back. I wish we lived closer to the Sesame place, I would love to take my boys there.
How did you like Janet Evanavitch? I love the Stephanie Plum series.

They are a total guilty pleasure. My sister in law gave me one to read on vacation. I think I read the whole thing in 2 sittings.
Welcome back! Looks like you had a lovely time to really soak in some sweetness and really be present for some monumental events with your family – yay!
My first born began Kindergarten this week – after my tears were cleared I got busy opening my own business!
Cheers to new seasons of all sorts!
Good for you! I bawled last year when we started kindergarten. And then again for 1st grade.
Yay!!! We’ve missed you! Welcome back! Looks like you had a blast on your break
So glad to see you back!

I barely got to read this summer and am craving a new book. I see Little House in the Big Woods in your stack…. My personal favorites from laura are Farmer boy- this book always makes me hungry, and On the Banks of Sugar Plum Creek. I think I might go check them out right now!
I just found your blog and really enjoy your posts. I have to say my favorite thing this summer was going to the beach each friday with my teenage daughter and jumping in the ocean. It was perfect all summer. Clean and clear! I also enjoyed snapping beach photos with my phone on the way home.

Looks like you’ve had a good (if not slightly teary) time away. Glad to see you posting again. LOVE the Little House books. Think I must have read them each 5 times when I was growing up.
I love those books too! A definite “must-read” with my kids.
So glad to see you back. I missed you! Loved the pictures of the boys!

We haven’t finished our summer list either–but we will! Sesame Place was at the top and we crossed that off in June, what a blast!

Missed you! Glad for you to be back in the saddle. . . or back in the desk chair, or whatever.
How the heck did that little fellow get to be four years old??? Isn’t he just a baby?
Of course, my middle (not my oldest, mind you) son just started his senior year. Maybe your years and my years have all gone to the same place.

YES! I’m absolutely positive that he was a baby just last week.
Sounds alot like my summer. A lot of reading for my self, teaching someone to read, Sesame Place( had a blast),pool time, sending someone off to 1st grade. Summers fly by when your grown up. I remember when they used to crawl before restarting up school.

Welcome back! I noticed in your last picture you had the book “Daisy Chain” in your read list. I started that book and just couldn’t get into it.
I’m curious what you thought of it and if I should pick it up again and try to perserve through it.
I read about the first 5 chapters and just wasn’t noticing any real good character development or anything that would make me want to drop everything to finish reading the book.

I did really enjoy Daisy Chain. In fact, I just finished the 2nd book in the series too. It’s definitely not a “fly through it in a day” kind of book but I got totally absorbed in the story.
It sounds wonderful, Kimba! I think you got a perfect amount of Summer into two weeks. I miss those Summers when my kids were younger ~ enjoy ‘em while you got ‘em!
Your bloggy vacation sounded like it was wonderful! I love Little House in the Big Woods! Love the whole series, every couple of years I re-read them!
Looks like you had a fun time! I love the toothless picture. Just think of the school picture with the missing front teeth, it is like a right of passage to have that school picture isn’t it?
That bread looks so good, can’t wait for the recipe.
Sounds great Kimba! Welcome back! I worked at Sesame Place all through college and after I graduated and got a “real” job. It was fun. My sister worked there too, she was The Count! LOL! I only worked in group sales, the bonus was I had air conditioning.
Looking forward to the bread recipe, that looks fantastic.
How fun to work at Sesame Place! Although it was probably hot in that costume for your sister.
KIMBA! so happy to see you had a wonderful blog vacation :]
so proud of you for taking a break!
now, give me that bread recipe? xo.
Thanks babe! Bread recipe coming soon. Patience grasshopper.
Hey Kimba, as a new follower, I missed you loads… Glad you are back and thanks for sharing your pics.

Love it! Looks like a great two weeks off! You also have some books I have been thinking about reading there. Did you like the Evanovich one?

Hi Jess! the Evanovich books are a total guilty pleasure for me. Kind of like cotton candy.
I fly through them in a day. But they’re just a fun easy read.
I’ve been trying to get your e-mail but everytime I click in it doesn’t work. If you could e-mail me that’d be great. I am thinking of advertising on your blog. Thanks!
My daughter turns two in two weeks. She LOVES Elmo. We are having a Sesame Street party. I know she would love Sesame Place. Maybe someday….
