I’m blogging from the beach this week! Woo and a Hoooooo!!! I know. I know. I’m a lucky dog. (Note to crazed killers waiting to rob my house…We have a security system and nosey neighbors)
Every summer, we spend a week in Rehoboth Beach, DE with my in-laws (who totally rock). There are at least 10 adults and a gaggle of kids. It’s heaven on the beach.
If you ever get the chance to visit this awesome east coast beach, I would highly recommend it. It’s the perfect combination of family friendly and simply fabulous.
There’s an awesome boardwalk with stuff for the kiddos combined with fantastic shopping and eating. I’m always shocked if I don’t gain 20 lbs the week that we’re here.
There will be much sand digging, wave jumping, ice cream eating and kite flying. And I’ll definitely squeeze in a little thrifting.
But, fear not! I’ll still be around (with sand between my toes) and I have some great stuff lined up for you this week. I am SUPER excited about an awesome giveaway that we’ll be doing later this week. Stay tuned!
What’s you’re favorite vacation ever?

Have a wonderful time!
West Coast beaches are beautiful to look at, but East Coast beaches can’t be beat for playing in the sand. Hope your two have a great week!

It sounds like a fun time! So great to be able to spend time with family.
Dig your toes in the sand for me! Hopefully we will see some more pictures during the week.
Summer of 8th grade- a pop up rv tour with 4 other families starting in tx – looping thru Oklahoma. Kansas, Colorado, and New Mexico then heading back to South East Texas thru hurricane alicia that had made landfall – that one vacation had it all, even the white grip of knuckles.
Your vacation looked GREAT! Rehobeth is awesome! We vacation in Bethany Beach DE. just up the road and LOVE love it!
I received a blog award yesterday and I’d like to pass it on to you as well! I know everyone is busy so if you don’t have time to do it that’s fine I just wanted you to know that I HEART your blog! It’s called A BLOG OF SUBSTANCE AWARD, and it’s on my blog if you want to check it out!
I used to live near Baltimore, and we went to Rehobeth one year with a friend to her mom’s ‘beach house’. Kristen was only about a year old at the time! I loved the boardwalk
Have a fun week.

Rehoboth Beach was my first experience with the ocean. I love it and agree totally with your statement of family friendly/small/perfect. I also like the state beach to the north of RB – perfect for a true beach experience without the boardwalk if that’s what floats your boat. Have fun!
Sounds like fun to me! Have a great time, Kimba.

Cape Hatteras, North Carolina is my all time fave vacation! Wonderful beaches, not very touristy and plenty to do!
Love Rehoboth! Hubby’s fam lives about a half hour from there…we always enjoy it when we are in the US!
You can come visit me! I live a little ways from there =) I am waving to you!

Looks like lots of fun! My kiddos love the beach…we live in AZ so we go to the west coast beaches. Enjoy!
Oh Fun! My grandmother used to live in Fenwick Island, DE so I grew up going to Fenwick, Rehoboth and Ocean City. She’s now in Cape May, NJ but I always joke with my hubby that we need to go back to the DE beaches so we can eat Dumser’s Ice Cream, Thrasher’s french fries and Fisher’s Popcorn! Have fun trip!
Looks beautiful & fun!
I NEED to go to the beach soon~It’s ONLY an hour and a half from me….no excuses!
Oh friend – have a blast….seriously, you have to do the fun plaster paris craft.
the kids would LOVE it.
When we went again, we made hearts with tons of shells in and a fish shape with broken shells as the gills. The kids can do their letter…..
A whole box is only about $5 at Walmart.

I grew up going to San Diego for vacation and now on the East Coast I take my famly to Nags Head North Carolina. Love both. I told my husband, then fiancee, that my mom and I on a mother daughter trip were watching the seals play in the water. He was excited and wanted pictures until I finally mentioned that they were the Navy kind not the zoo kind. lol I’ve never lived that down…neither has he.
BEAUTIFUL pics. I can live vicariously thru you. My best vacation memory is off in the woods in PA staying at a ski resort in the summer… HMMMM or the Gatlinburg trips staying out in the middle of no where in a log cabin…. Seeing a pattern here??? love the quiet of the woods I guess.

Kimba,
I LOVE Rehoboth Beach!!!
Great memories from RB as a single gal with friends and our day trips for fun and amusement. There was always this one guy that would dig out his reclining chair in the sand and ‘lay out’ all day. What a hoot!
Great memory, hope your time away is fabulous.
Peace.
My favorite vacation was when I returned to Turkey after 20 years (we had lived there when in the military) and visited with old friends, did some serious shopping on gold alley and in the Turkish carpet shops. Visited the beach and had a wonderful time. If you ever get the chance go to Izmir, Turkey.

My favorite vacation to go on now is the beach for sure. My favorite vacation memory is a surprise trip to Prince Edward Island that my hubby took me on when I was pregnant with our first child. Enjoy the sand between your toes and the sound of the waves!
that sounds like a perfect vacation! I would love to do this! We live in the midwest, and are currently on a little mini vacay to Omaha, to the zoo and some shopping and children’s museum. whoo hoo! I have dreams of beach vacations, because i’ve only ever seen ocean a few precious times in my life. We live nowhere near a coast! enjoy your time!

I’ve read about Rehoboth Beach in Southern Living…and if they say it’s a great place, well then you know it’s gospel truth. : )
My favorite vacations ever were on the beach at Gulf Shores, Alabama. It hurts my heart to know so much wildlife has been hurt on the beaches down there. But, we will go back eventually!
My second favorite vacation spot is near Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Sooooo pretty!

Hope your week is totaly great and refreshing!!!
See you around!
Kisses. Bela.
How cool! My family used to visit Rehoboth when I was really little.
Hope you have a wonderful time!!! I love vacations with lots of family.
Kimba,
i am so jealous of you. We have family that live in Ocean City. We just moved this year so won’t be able to get that way till the first of the year. I am so wanting some crabs. Eat a boatload for me, would ya?Enjoy your time with family and enjoy the beach.
Outer Banks of NC!!! Would move there tomorrow if I could! Enjoy your week! I’ve been there before, my friends family owns a pizza place on the boardwalk, but I can’t remember the name of it!!
Very talented on the sand squid… I wanna be there! I guess I have to wait for my turn, next stop for us is Virgina Beach…
Love Rehoboth. We are going to Myrtle this year. My kids can’t remember Myrtle Beach so we are going back this year.
But, will probably go back to Rehoboth next year, its our favorite. It’s nice to just park your car and not have to drive the whole week. Everything you need is nearby and their are so many great (but, expensive) restaurants. Myrtle is cheaper, but Rehoboth is more fun, can’t beat the boardwalk on a hot night. We went to Cape May last year, very expensive and not as much fun.
have so much fun! i blogged from the beach last week.
navarre beach, florida
This sounds like so much fun! My brother-in-law lives a few minutes from Rehoboth Beach and they love it there. Have a great time.

JEALOUS! Delaware is my home and grew up going to the beach all summer. Eat some Grotto’s for me and some Dolle’s popcorn!!
We just vacationed in DE last month. Went for a family reunion. Unfortunately, it rained on our “beach day.” We did walk on the boardwalk in between rainstorms and dipped our toes in the ocean!

I would have to say my best vacation ever was the one we just walked in the door from. Every summer we spend one week in Lewes, DE (neighbor to you in Rehoboth). My Aunt has a beach home there and my Dad lives there. We love it there but this year my Dad wasn’t going to be able to take off for his time with us and I was bummed. At the last minute he just surprised us and was able to spend precious time with us hanging on the bech. We had perfect weather… never reaching above 85 degrees the entire week. A huge break from the 100 degree plus temps here in NC we have had all summer. After our time with him we headed straight to New York City and spent four days there with our three boys. It was amazing and we have some wonderful memories with our boys! I am not sure we can top this summer’s travels any time soon! Hope you time at the beach is just wonderful… we miss the Kohr Bros Ice cream already and Candy Kitchen treats!
BTW— I don’t know if you eat at Gus and Gus on the boards Mr. Gus & his son make the best cheeseburger ever and my three year old thinks he also make a killer grilled cheese! We ate lunch there as we were leaving town and my boys were so sad to be leaving it behind that they ordered seconds!
Looks like a ton o’ fun! ::envious::
Hi Kimba, I could not help it after I saw that you were vacationing in Delaware… Do you in live in Delaware or close? I do and I just curious because most of the bloggers that I follow are from far away!
