I wanted to title this post “I Made the Cutest Thing Ever!” but that seemed a little much. But I do think this is the Cutest Thing Ever…or at least the Cutest Mossy Easter Basket ever.
And it was easy. Messy, but easy. Here’s what you need:

- A basket with a handle
- A package of sheet moss from the craft store
- Jute twine
- Hot glue
There’s no science to this process. Just cut pieces of moss and hot glue them to the basket.

Don’t worry about making it perfect.
Overlap the pieces and fill in any holes with small pieces of moss.

Wrap your jute twine all around the handle and hot glue it in place as you go. You WILL burn your fingers. I suggest using low melt hot glue. Then you’ll only get 2nd degree burns.

Ta Da! How cute is your mossy basket? I love mine holding some fake eggs. I think it would make a fantastic centerpiece or hostess gift if you use it to hold a pretty plant.

Did I mention that this is a messy project? If it’s warm where you are, I suggest doing this outside. I’m still finding mossy bits in my kitchen.

Oh, you easter craft people are making me look bad! I’ve never bought or made easter decorations, cause i can’t stand all the pastel colors in my house (actually, i just try to focus on eating easter candy and skip the decorating).
i love this- how its all earthy and worn looking. should do it.. should do it… maybe i will. we’ll see.
i am really good at committing to tasks large and small.

I just made a moss topiary, and you’re right – the moss gets EVERYWHERE. And it smells kinda funky, too – who knew?!

That is so cute! It would make a a nice little plant holder, too! You just might have to use a different type of container that would handle water better.
Such a cute basket! I have learn the hard way that glue guns can cause really bad burns!

You are just too crafty for words. I totally think the twine wrapped handle makes it!
Super cute! At least hot glue gun burns heal pretty fast-and I’m so glad I’m not the only gal who has burnt off half her fingerprints in the pursuit of a cool craft!
