I don’t really decorate for Valentine’s Day. It’s a nice little holiday, but not really worth a big home decorating push…kind of like Arbor Day or Corn Dog Day (March 20th). But my son saw a heart shaped Christmas ornament hanging from a candle holder and asked if we could decorate for Valentine’s Day.
That son is rather persistant and before I knew it we were searching the house for all things red and heart. Here’s what we found:

Stacks of red books. I care not what the titles are. I double-dog dare you to tell my man that A World at Arms and Home Wiring are not romantic books.
I printed those sweet vintage valentines from The Graphics Fairy. She has tons of free vintage images and clip art that you can print and frame or use for craft projects.

When I put away the Christmas decorations, I set aside these glass ornaments and the beaded garland. They sorta whisper Valentine’s Day when they’re paired with some (upside-down) milk glass candle sticks and vases.

And the heart-shaped Christmas ornament that started this whole thing. Love me some big fat red ribbon.

And a little something sumpin sumpin for my man. RAWR! Yeah, I love ‘em too.
What about you? Do you do any Valentine’s Day decorating? Do you have anything special planned?
How about a little more Valentine’s Day inspiration:

We decorate for about a holiday a month. It used to be just my thing but now my husband does it for me during tax season. Unfortunately since we moved and I am completely disorganized we still have two Christmas trees up along with our valentine decorations!!
I love that you’ve inspired your son to appreciate his environment.

No big V-day decor here. I’m so ready for spring, though. Seashells and aqua are already creeping back out into displays.

I’m like you, Kimba. I don’t really decorate either. I did print out a few of The Graphics Fairy’s images and made little tags to add to existing decor, but now that my kids are grown I don’t do much as far as Valentine decorating. I love the books and that ornament that started it all is really pretty.

I’ve never been into Valentine’s decorating or decor but for some reason, I can’t get enough of it this year…
Here is what I’ve blogged about so far, and I’ve got at least 3-4 more projects in the works.

I don’t, but every time I look at cute things like this, I think I should. I could probably make (or find) just a few cute things to put up that could be easily stored away after. I’m with the person above though, who is starting to think about spring displays…! (I need more of those, too; seems my decor is over-run by fall/Halloween and Christmas/winter stuff…!) Bring on the spring decor!

Wow! I guess I’m not alone! I only decorate for fall and Christmas, but I don’t really go all-out for either. Just a little touch of classic here and there. I love your shoes

Oh, girl. Those red shoes. Woo-hoo!
I’m guessing you’re in Nashville or on your way. I so wish I were with y’all there. I lived in Nashville for four years, so I could be the driver. . . the tour guide. . . whatever. Mostly I could just be glad to be in your presence.
BUT I am here where I need to be, pulling out my own “red shoes” for my hubby on his birthday tomorrow.
Y’all have a great time!

love your ideas…but even more I LOVE THOSE SHOES!! You gotta feel pretty confident in a pair of shoes like that…Happy Valentine’s Day!

Everything you did is so charming, Kimba! Well done!
I have not done much for valentines day decor, except trade out the candles inside my epsom salt filled apothecary jars, but that’s enough for me.
Maybe I’ll get real festive and fill up a jar with red hots and another with conversation hearts, we’ll see!
I’m hosting a love story linky party next week (Feb. 12) highlighting your own favorite love stories! I’d love it if you’d like to link up a story of you and your sweetie! Maybe sharing how you met, how he proposed, or even a memorable date. Hope you have a fabulous weekend at Blissdom in those sassy red shoes!

Love the shoes!
I don’t decorate for V-Day. I’ll probably make a heart attack-inducing dinner for the fam and give the boys little baskets of Valentine’s goodies, but that’s it.

I like your Valentine’s Day decorations! They look so nice and classy!
I love to decorate for holidays and seaons. I’m skipping Valentine’s Day decorations this year, though. It’s just too much for me with a new baby. Hopefully next year I can do it again.

I usually don’t decorate for Valentine’s but this year I am so sick of winter that I needed something to take my mind off it! So, instead of taking down Christmas decorations and leaving the snowmen and pine boughs and wreaths, we put away all wintery stuff. The kids and I printed out some vintage valentines and put them in frames and placed them on the mantle and the bathroom counters and the shelf… My daughter got some fabric scraps and sewed little heart pillows and hung them from a tree branch in a vase. It turned out pretty cute and its keeps my mind off of the cold outside!
