I always have a such a hard time with the first few sentences of my posts. I feel like I need to write some glorious introduction. How’s this for an introduction…
Readers? Meet my Christmas door bucket. Christmas door bucket? Meet my readers.

I’ve been s l o w l y sneaking in some Christmas decorations without anyone noticing. I think with this one, I’m finally busted. Can’t deny that I’m decorating for Christmas when this is hanging on the door from the garage. My front door still says it’s fall, but the garage door claims its Christmas. I anticipate a seasonal rumble very soon.

I like these door bucket things. Mine is from Southern Living at Home, but I got it at Goodwill. Shhhh. Don’t tell. But I don’t like that you can see all the stems through it. So I lined mine with a piece of burlap. A couple dots of hot glue hold the burlap in place.

The bottom is filled with a crumpled up grocery store ad. I didn’t have a piece of floral foam handy and I needed something for the reindeer to sit on. The grocery store ad was handy.

There’s no science to the rest of it. Just start stuffing in greenery until you like the way that it looks. I used a few different types of greens and that huge silver, berry, beaded, doesn’t-exist-in-nature thing because I like it. And a reindeer. I like reindeer.

And here’s tip for you…If you’re afraid that the metal bucket or wreath or whatever is going to scratch your door, just squeeze a couple of big globs of hot glue onto the back. Let it dry and Voila! Instant protective bumper!

Have you checked out my new eBook, A Very Kimba Christmas? I know some of you are in denial that Christmas is coming quickly. It’s time to look at the calendar and get prepared!

LOVE the arrangement! Of course my goodwill hasn’t had anything nearly so cute to snatch up recently LOL thanks for sharing!! it makes me want to break out Christmas ASAP!!
Oh, I love it! The little reindeer is definitely a fun touch. Christmas is only like 38 days away!
What a great way to bust out the Christmas decor with a bang! I love that hot glue bumper trick – I’ve used it myself wayyy more than I care to admit!
Hi Kimba!
I tried to leave a comment the other day, but my computer just WOULD NOT work with me. It just kept saying “Loading. . . “. Forever and ever, amen.
But I’ll say here what I wanted to say there, namely: I LOVE your EBook! It was a joy to flip through page after page of Kimba. All Kimba, all the time. Wonderful.
And I like this idea for your door. I like reindeer, too. . . and angels and stars and bells and all those other wonderful Christmas lovelies. I’m holding out with my Thanksgiving decorations until after next Thursday, but you and Nester have me inspired to get going behind the scenes!
Love your bucket thingy! I have something similar on my front door for fall {not very deep because I have a storm door, too}. I’m thinking of taking out the squished fall flowers and stuff that came with it and reusing it for Christmas greens and such. I should do something on the garage door, though, since that’s the door we use all the time.
Okay, testimonial here! I downloaded the ebook last night and can say that it was worth it, there are some super cool ideas and instructions, and you should all rush out to plunk down your 8 bucks. Come on 8 bucks? What in the world can you get for 8 bucks? 2 Starbucks? This is way better
Thanks, Kim(ba), it was a great idea!
I just about jumped out of my chair! Is that my name on the giveway? Oh I am so thrilled – thank you!
That glue trick is awesome! I will be using that, and very pretty basket!
Gorgeous!!
I love it!!! I use newspaper too to stuff the bottom of my arrangement.
Love the burlap at the bottom!
Lovely!! Thanks for the inspiration – we’re in full Thanksgiving swing right now, but I know Christmas is waiting just around the corner… time to get thinking!!
CUTE! I love it! Drat, I need more doors to put all the pretties I keep seeing all over the web.
The door basket is just gorgeous. I love it. Thanks for sharing. Hugs, Marty
This is so cute! The little tip about a glob of hot glue on the back as a bumper… BRILLIANT… so going to use that!
I keep saying I want to find your Goodwill and snatch up all the great treasures that would be waiting there for me!!!! Gotta check out your ebook!!! Sounds terrific!!
It turned out gorgeous! Such a great idea to use hot glue to save the door from scratches. Why didn’t I think of that?!
THATS IT!!!! I’m never taking another thing to Goodwill. Weeks ago I got sick of not know what to do with that EXACT bucket and got rid of it.

Hi, Kimba! Thanks so much for answering my shower curtain question over on Layla’s blog
I looked for some photos of your home, but couldn’t find them. Am I missing a link somewhere?
Thanks again for the encouragement to go ahead and nix the doors!

Thanks for the idea! I got that exact same bucket at a garage sale and it’s been sitting there for 2 weeks wondering what I should put it it. I wanted to do poinsettas but was worried about the sticks showing thru and lining with burlap is perfect!!!!
Adorable Kimba! I love your tip about the hot glue. So cute!
XOOX
